27th April 2018, Oxfordshire, UK. Sense Biodetection Limited (Sense) has today announced that it has strengthened its senior team with the appointments of Dr Gemma Blackwell as Principal Scientist and Mr Lelio Cereda as Head of Development.
Gemma has extensive prior experience in the molecular diagnostics industry with achievements including the development through to CE mark and commercial launch of new molecular diagnostic devices and test products. She is an expert in molecular microbiology and completed doctoral studies at the University of Birmingham. At Sense, Gemma will bring leadership to the Company’s molecular development activities interfacing across the molecular and engineering teams.
Lelio is a highly experienced medical device product development engineer who joins Sense following senior roles at leading technology firms Team Consulting and PA Consulting. Lelio spent his early career at global medical device and diagnostics manufacturer Flex Ltd (formerly Flextronics) where he was involved in a broad range of development programmes including portable diagnostic devices. At Sense, Lelio’s expertise in product engineering and design for manufacture in ISO13485 regulated environments will bolster the company’s design, development and production capabilities.
